Why should I purchase a Water Wonders® Fountain?

To be turned “Outside In”!

Decorative water features bring nature indoors.  The sight and sounds of gently flowing waters bring tranquility and serenity to the places we spend our time – our homes, offices, and businesses.

To Affirm your Message!

If you want a calming influence for your professional office or spa, an energizing effect for your restaurant or business, or an inviting, welcoming embrace in your shop or hotel, use a fountain.  It will accent the mood and message created by your chosen décor.  Like nothing else will!

To be Remembered!

Fountains distinguish your space.  People remember a room, a store, a restaurant, or a lobby because “it had that really cool fountain.”  So, make a statement!   We’ll even put your company name or logo on your fountain if you’d like!

They’re Gorgeous!

Tens of thousands of people from around the world have bought our fountains over the years – because they’re gorgeous!  At least that’s what they tell us.

They’re Art That Moves!

Our fountains combine nature’s elements – copper, slate, stones, marble and water -- into art that moves.  Paintings, prints, and sculptures are great – but they don’t move.  They don’t flow.  They don’t emulate the sounds and motion of nature like a Water Wonders fountain does.

They’re Genuine!

All Water Wonders fountains are designed by renowned artist – Neil Sater.  You’d like Neil if you met him.  And they’re made in America -- by hand.  The Italian copper is sheared and formed, the Indian slate is cut and smoothed, and the Pacific Coast pebbles are placed by hand.  Hands that belong to a lot of nice people who work really hard raising their families here on California’s central coast --you’d like these people, too!

Who buys Water Wonders Fountains?

People all over America.  Actually, people from over 30 countries.  People like you.  --  homeowners, business owners, designers, builders, architects, contract furnishers, doctors, dentists, chiropractors, masseuses, psychologists, therapists, nursing homes, medical centers, hospitals, hospices, funeral homes, churches, synagogues, spas, health clubs, hotels, restaurants, resorts, country clubs, wineries, lodges, casinos, florists, car dealers, the US armed forces, police forces, courthouses, lawyers, museums, aquariums, colleges, and libraries.  Who’d we leave out?  Email us at marketing@waterwonders.com if we overlooked you!

What are the Health Benefits of a Water Wonders Fountain?

Fountains calm us.  It’s proven.  They help us relax and reduce our stress.  When we are calm, our heart rate drops, our blood pressure goes down, our muscles relax, we breathe more deeply, and we think more clearly.

Fountains produce negative ions. Sometimes a negative is a positive.  That’s true of ions.  High concentrations of negative ions are essential for high energy and positive mood.  The atmosphere we breathe normally is full of positive and negative ions.  Air conditioning, lack of ventilation, and long dry spells remove negative ions.  About one-third of the population is affected by negative ion depletion.  It affects their mood and cognitive abilities.  According to scientists, the best ratio of negative ions is around waterfalls and rivers. The worst is found in closed rooms, offices, and closed, moving vehicles.

The normal ion count in fresh country air is 2,000 to 4,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter. At Yosemite Falls, you'll experience over 100,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter.  On the other hand, the level is far below 100 per cubic centimeter in a car on the Los Angeles freeways during rush hour.  While ionization of the air is mandatory in many European hospitals and work places, it has only recently come to light in the US with the growing problem of toxic air in our urban environments.

Water Wonders fountains, with their constantly moving water, are excellent producers of negative ions to enliven you, with gentle trickling sounds to enchant and calm you.  We even have a fountain called Yosemite Falls, and while it doesn’t quite produce 100,000 negative Ions per cubic centimeter, it’s a start!

Fountains mask unwanted noise.  Whether blocking out chatter in the office or traffic noise in your city home, a fountain keeps you centered in your space.  They’re great for lulling you to sleep, supporting your meditation, and protecting your focus on your work.  They also get along well with a couple of candles and little massage oil!

Fountains are a natural humidifier.  People who live in the arid climates of Arizona, California, Colorado, and New Mexico, are some of the most frequent purchasers of Water Wonders fountains.  We know some people who have one of our fountains in every major room in their house!  Our fountains, with their aesthetic beauty and soothing sounds of trickling water, are a clear favorite over ordinary humidifiers that just hum, spew mist, and often spawn mold and mildew.  Adding just a small amount of humidity to the air with a Water Wonders fountain helps alleviate dry skin, reduces allergies, and is appreciated by your pets and plants alike!

Cats love our fountains!  Okay, it’s not a health benefit, but we had to put it in somewhere.  We’ve had lots of people write and tell us that their cat loves our fountain – particularly our Moonshadow.  There’s something about the trickling water that mesmerizes cats.  And, so we are told, they’ve also been known to take a drink from time to time.

How are Water Wonders fountains made?

We make our fountains from various natural materials including Italian copper, Indian Raja multi-color and Jeera green quartzite slate, pebbles harvested from the Pacific coast, Italian marble tile, premium glass and mirror.

Our fountains are a blend of cutting edge technology and handcrafted artistry.  The fountains are designed and engineered using state of the art computer assisted design (CAD) and computer assisted manufacturing (CAM) software and equipment to ensure precision.  They are then brought to life by skilled artisans who shear and shape the copper, cut and smooth the slate, glass, and tile, and then assemble the parts and carefully pack the finished product to be shipped to you.  Each fountain is inspected along the way and then upon completion by people who put their names and ours on the finished product.

Our fountains are made with care and attention to detail by dedicated people who take pride in what they do.  Our employees work at Water Wonders because they know they are valued – by us and by you.  That’s why they take pride in the products we make, and take a certain joy in pleasing you!

How Do Water Wonders Fountains Work?

Are your fountains electric or battery operated?

All of our fountains run on electricity.  All of our pumps and lighting components are UL Listed.  All are designed for indoor use and some are also engineered for outdoor settings.  Our illuminated fountains have two cords – one for the pump and one for the lighting – so you can turn off the light while leaving the fountain running.  With Wall fountains, you have two choices on where to connect your pump and light cords:

1)      Simply hang the cords straight down to the floor and plug in.  “Hide” your cords with a potted plant.  The green in the plant looks great against the copper and slate.

2)      Have an electrician recess an outlet directly behind you wall fountain and “hard wire” this to a wall switch.

Do they require plumbing?

No.  All of our standard fountains have self-contained reservoirs and use re-circulating pumps.  Water is added manually every few days – like watering a plant.  No fuss, no muss, no plumber!

Do I have to worry about water splashing onto the floor?

When our fountains are properly installed, there should not be significant splashing.  The instructions received along with your fountain will provide information about setting up your fountain and adjusting the pump to minimize splashing.

What about installation and maintenance?

We have engineered our fountains to be easy to install.  Unless you have purchased one of our large (double, triple) “heavyweight” fountains, or one of our Double or Triple LightWeight Slate™ fountains, you should be able to install it yourself or with the help of a friend.  Recently, we hired a college intern to actually install each of our fountains and then write the installation instructions.  She did almost all of them by herself!  Of course, if you’re just not handy or you bought one of the “big boys” call a friend or your handyman for a little help.  As much as we’d love to, we can’t install your standard fountain for you.  We do build custom fountains – big ones!  If you’d like one of them, we’ll build it to your specifications.  And, yes, we’ll come install it for you!  Happily!

Regarding maintenance, like many things we cherish, fountains do require a bit of attention -- but not much more than a plant.  There’s really nothing to it.  See the section of our website titled “Operation and Maintenance Guidelines.”

What if I need replacement parts?

Though it’s unlikely (if you follow our Care and Maintenance Guidelines) if you need a part like a pump or a light bulb, contact the Authorized Water Wonders Dealer you bought your fountain from and they will take care of you.  Or, contact us directly at customerservice@waterwonders.com, and we’ll take care of you!
